Federal Advocacy and Building Codes
BOMA International advocates on behalf of the commercial real estate industry on Capitol Hill, in states across the country and in federal agencies, and it is the only national commercial real estate association with an active building codes advocacy program. BOMA International also works in close coordination with BOMA’s state and local associations to protect the interests of the industry. BOMA’s legislative, regulatory, and codes victories have protected our members’ livelihood and saved billions of dollars in operating costs.

BOMA International Standards and Research
BOMA International publishes a suite of ANSI-approved standards for measuring space in office, industrial, multi-residential, retail, mixed-use, and gross area, and it is a founding member of the International Property Measurement Standards (IPMS) Coalition. BOMA International also publishes its annual Experience Exchange Report (EER) benchmarking study for office and industrial buildings, as well as other important studies, including Where America Goes to Work: The Contributions of Office Building Operations to the Economy.
